Download and complete the attached Senior Data Sheet and give to your letter writer to provide them with helpful details for your Letter of Recommendation. When asking for a Letter of Recommendation, be sure to allow plenty of time for writing it! (2-3 weeks)

Khan Academy Free Online Test Prep
Khan Academy is a not-for-profit educational organization started by Salman Khan in 2008.
Khan Academy's mission is to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. All resources are completely free forever, regardless of whether you're a student, teacher, home-schooler, principal, or adult returning to the classroom after 20 years.
Online materials cover subjects ranging from math and finance to history and art. With thousands of bite-sized videos, step-by-step problems and instant data, Khan Academy provides a rich and engaging learning experience. You can earn points and badges along the way, and coach others aw well. Sign up and take the math pretest, then practice and level up your skills! Or choose from thousands of lessons to learn something new. Then, on your profile, select your avatar and show off you badges.

Where Do I Begin? How Should I Get Started?
Start by taking a Tour of the Site
Select a topic from the "Learn" menu or do a search for a topic of your choosing! Or practice your skills using the Math Knowledge Map. Start at Addition 1, or explore on your own.
Profiles: Log in to see your badges and track your learning progress.

SAT
​
The SAT Test is a 3-hour test (plus an additional 50 minutes for optional Essay) that asks you to apply a deep understanding of the knowledge and skills most important for college and career readiness. The test consists of 2 required sections: Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and Math, and provides a 3rd additional optional Essay section. It is used by college admissions officers as a supplement to the secondary school record.

The SAT Test fee for the 2020 - 2021 school year is $52.00 without the Essay Option and $68.00 with the Essay Option. Fee Waivers are available to high school juniors and seniors (limit 2) who demonstrate financial need. See Ms. McCabe in the Career Center.
Registration can be completed online at www.sat.org/register (credit card required) or by mailing in the registration form available in the Career Center

The SAT Subject Tests are a battery of one-hour, mostly multiple-choice tests that measure how much students know about a particular academic subject and how well they can apply that knowledge Students take the SAT Subject Tests to demonstrate to colleges their mastery of specific subjects like English, history and social studies, mathematics, science, and languages. It is recommended that Subject Tests be taken at the completion of a particular course or series of courses related to the subject area. (Required in addition to the SAT Reasoning and/or ACT by some private and out-of-state colleges.) Visit the website or pick up an SAT Registration Bulletin in the Career Center for information on Subject Test Fees. Fee Waivers for the Subject Tests are available to 9th – 12th high school students who demonstrate financial need (limit 2) See Ms. Villanueva in the Career Center.

ACT
​
The ACT is a group of tests administered by ACT and required or recommended by some colleges as part of the admission process. Tests measure educational development in English, mathematics, reading and science reasoning. Students may register for one of two Test Options: the ACT or ACT Plus Writing which includes a 30-minute Writing Test. Check the website for a list of institutions that recommend, require, or do not need the results from the ACT Writing test.

Students may register online at www.actstudent.org (credit card required) or by completing the mail-in registration packet available in the Career Center.
​
The ACT test (No Writing) fee for the 2020-2021 school year is $55.00. The ACT Plus Writing fee is $70.00. Fee Waivers are available to high school juniors and seniors (limit 2) who demonstrate financial need. See Ms. Villanueva in the Career Center.

PSAT
​
All Juniors and Sophomores are encouraged to complete the PSAT. Freshmen with strong Algebra I, Geometry, and English skills are also encouraged to take this test.
